What type of wood is used to make the Anka High Chair?
The Anka High Chair is made of solid poplar wood and is derived from FSC certified forests when available. The wood used is always E1 certified raw material, meeting the European Union’s specific demands regarding low formaldehyde levels in wood.

All stains used do NOT emit formaldehyde (EO certified) and meet the demands of the European Union directive 2005/84/EC concerning phthalates.
What is the hardware for the Anka High Chair made of?
All hardware used for assembling Anka products are made of steel. Most metal parts are constructed from recycled metal.
Why are parts of the Anka High Chair assembled with Allen bolts?
By using Allen bolts and therefore needing a specific Allen key in order to adjust it, you reduce the chance that a sibling or other person might adjust the chair in an unsafe manner or while it is in use with a child in place. The Allen bolt assembly is one way Anka puts safety first.
I heard the Anka High Chair is small and portable. Can it be carried in the car?
The Anka High Chair is designed to be a solid piece of furniture in your home. However, its compact design can be transported in the car. Simply fold the chair with its tray removed or attached to the back, and store with the back of the chair facing up in a regular car seat or trunk. If you do transport the chair this way, be sure to check and tighten the hardware before use to make sure nothing became loose in transit.
Can the Anka High Chair adjust to the height of my countertop bar?
The Anka High Chair was designed to sit up to the height of an average table, typically 30 inches high. This allows the adult to sit in a regular chair to feed a young child and for the child to sit right up to the table with the family. The Anka High Chair cannot be adjusted to sit up to a countertop or bar-height table.
How much does the Anka High Chair weigh?
The complete Anka High Chair, with tray and cushion, weighs 20 pounds/9.07 kg.
How is the Anka High Chair ergonomic in its design?
With adjustable seat depth, tray and footrest, the Anka High Chair provides ergonomic support for your baby and adjusts and grows well into toddlerhood. The Anka High Chair will provide your child with ergonomic support at every size.
Does the Anka High Chair come with a safety harness?
The Anka High Chair comes with a three-point safety harness that is designed specifically to allow the ergonomic seating of your child without inhibiting their interaction with the family at the table or their ability to reach for food and activities. This meets current US safety standards.
Why doesn’t the Anka High Chair have a 5-point harness?
Although other high chairs include a five-point safety harness, the Anka High Chair is specifically designed with a three-point harness in order to allow the ergonomic seating of your child and so not to inhibit their interaction with the family at the table or their ability to reach for food and activities. A five-point harness will pin your child’s shoulders back against the seat back and not allow for natural movement or reaching which inhibits their natural instincts and abilities to play or feed themselves.
How do I know if my child is ready to eat in the Anka High Chair?
The Anka High Chair is designed to provide upright support for children who are able to sit up on their own to eat. If your child is not able to sit upright unassisted, you may want to consider another option until they can sit upright, typically around 6 months of age.
Why is an adjustable footrest so important?
If your child’s feet are being supported, he will be able to focus on the task of eating. If an adjustable footrest is not present or does not meet up to adequate expectations, the child will spend the majority of his/her energy trying to keep himself upright and will then tire himself out. The chair provides your child with complete and sufficient postural control, as well as a safe and comfortable place for baby to rest and eat.
At what weight and age is the Anka High Chair designed for?
The Anka High Chair is safety certified for average children from 6 months to 5 years old. As it adjusts, the Anka High Chair can seat a child up to 50 pounds in the booster position.
What does it mean to say the Anka High Chair is safety-certified?
The Anka High Chair was designed around rigorous safety standards and is certified in the U.S. to meet or exceed the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) safety standards. These standards are developed by industry members, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, consumer groups, and other interested parties. The Anka High Chair additionally meets the standards established by the Juvenile Products Manufacturing Association (JPMA). Look for the JPMA certification seal.

Can I remove the harness for cleaning?
Although you can remove the harness for cleaning we recommend you do not. In order to remove the harness you would need to completely disassemble the seat from the legs and then remove the seat back. We recommend that you wipe the harness often with a wet cloth and that it remain attached to the chair for cleaning. How to use
How do I adjust the Anka High Chair to the proper positions?
- The guard should be adjusted so that it fits snuggly against the child’s body to provide both support and safety.
- The footrest height should be set so that the child’s knees are bent to a 90° angle.

You know your child’s abilities better than anyone. The signs that your child may be ready to sit in the Anka High Chair without crotch bar are:
- Your child is able to sit in a chair without assistance.
- Your child shows interest in climbing into the chair on his or her own.
- Your child tries to climb out of their chair.
Will I ever need to tighten the hardware?
Your chair hardware may loosen up after assembly. This is a result of the natural materials maturing. Please be sure to tighten your hardware about a month after initial assembly and check for any looseness periodically, particularly after transporting the chair.
The seat seems so small how can I get my larger child into the Anka High Chair?
The seat depth is made in accordance with the ASTM High Chair Standard. The Anka High Chair features two adjustment points for the seat depth. The inner point for the crotch bar is designed for a smaller child and the outer point for an older child. If your child is older or larger than average you may find this depth to still be rather small. To accommodate both the larger child and the older child, the Anka High Chair can be used with the crotch bar removed and the three point harness along with the crotch bar which is affixed to the tray. When used with the tray, the chair still meets all relevant safety requirements as the crotch bar is part of the tray. Adult supervision is always required when using any high chair.
How can I store my Anka High Chair when not in use?
The Anka High Chair is ideal for smaller spaces. The tray stores on the back of the chair and the legs fold for convenient storage. Many people store their Anka High Chairs in a closet when not in use.
How do I fold the Anka High Chair up when not in use?
By unlocking the legs’ position, you can fold the Anka High Chair for easy storage. Do this by pressing the locking mechanism outward and upward.
What are these wood pegs sticking out of the back of the Anka High Chair legs?
The pegs are where you can conveniently store the Tray when it is not in use or for storage. The arms of the tray have holes near the end that will set onto these pegs and the tray will rest against the back legs.
My child has grown since I have purchased the Anka High Chair. How can I adjust the footrest?
You can adjust the footrest by releasing the Allen bolts and moving the footrest to the desired position and reinserting the Allen bolts. Be sure to tighten the Allen bolts to secure that the footrest is in place. Adjust the footrest height so that the child’s feet rest flat on the surface with their knees bent at a 90-degree angle.
How do I adjust the tray?
You can adjust the tray by pressing the latch on the bottom of the tray bracket to unlock the tray’s position. Slide the tray forward or backward to the desired position. Make sure the tray locks into the brackets and the safety pin on the tray latch is in position.
How do I open up the Anka High Chair?
When opening up the high chair, pull the legs apart, and make sure the lock has snapped in position. Do not use the high chair unless the lock has been properly snapped into position. Failure to properly assemble the chair could lead to serious injury or death from falls or collapse of the chair.
The wooden tray is safe to use without the tray cover. Always dry the wooden tray thoroughly after any spills or after cleaning.
