About the Designer

Furniture design professor Dr. Lynn Jones, M.A. was alarmed by the increasing number of women who were choosing not to breastfeed. She learned that the leading causes were infant distress and maternal pain and discomfort often due to poor positioning. She decided to research the issue and found that in most cases, poor positioning is related to the types of furniture that mothers use when nursing.

But it wasn't just research that contributed to the creation of the remarkable Monarch Nursery Chair. When Lynn had her own child, her personal experience added a new dimension to her understanding of the research. She designed the Monarch Nursery Chair to offer women an alternative to help them have a better breastfeeding experience and to introduce them to the unsurpassed joy of nurturing their child in comfort.
